Farmers Insurance – Tara Piatt Agency opened their office in January of 2022 as a full-service agency offering farmers insurance, as well as individual healthcare and Medicare. The agency moved to its current location of 119 S 7th St in January of 2023 to expand their business and grow their team. Currently a team of two consisting of Tara Piatt, Agency Owner, and Emily Higgins, Insurance Professional. Tara has been in the world of insurance since 2015. Outside of work, she enjoys playing tennis and spending time with her three kids. Emily began her career in insurance in 2018 and enjoys reading. Emily is also on the Buy Local Committee, a volunteer for the Wayne County Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of HYPE. Tara had this to say about downtown: “We wanted our office to be here so we could continue to support the community, be involved in area events, and help grow downtown. Supporting local businesses is very important to us. Farmers Insurance is really focusing on small, local businesses. If you love it, we can insure it!” Not only is Tara’s agency a sponsor for a local youth volleyball team, but her and Emily love to frequent many local businesses such as The Art of Hair and Metamorphosis Spa, Richmond Furniture Gallery, Luxe Lizzie’s, and Undercover Coffee just to name a few.
