LisaCakes LLC
Lisa McCurdy opened LisaCakes LLC in March of 2018 and moved the business to its current location in the Building at the Loft in September of 2021. A dessert studio, LisaCakes offers unique items such as custom cakes, wedding cakes, treats for special occasions, and offer a wide variety of desserts sold in store. One of their most popular items are their “Popscoes”. These tasty cake pops are made using coffee from Roscoe’s and each one is named after one of their signature drinks. Lisa mentioned: “One of my favorite things about my business is seeing a family stop by our studio to get some Popscoes after their haircuts at The Art of Hair located upstairs. I love our location so much. We have amazing neighbors and we’re so lucky to have all these great businesses in one building. My family has been very supportive and I couldn’t have done this without them.” Lisa loves art and always wanted to be an artist in high school but found her true calling while decorating her daughter’s 2nd birthday cake. It was during her days working for Reid Health providing cakes for hospital employees and community members that she decided on a name for the business. Her cakes were very popular and whenever someone wanted one, they always referred to them as “those Lisa cakes”. The term stuck and LisaCakes was born. Now with over 20 years of experience, Lisa’s business is doing “batter” than ever! Not to mention they were the 2021 and 2022 back-to-back Depot District Hot Chocolate Showdown Champions!
